ReSound Microphone Filters
Resound hearing aids use microphone filters (sometimes called mic covers or mic guards) to protect the tiny microphones from dust, debris, and moisture.

These are different from wax guards, which protect the speaker/receiver in the ear canal.

When to Change your Microphone Filters?
- Usually every 6–12 months, depending on environment (more often if you’re in dusty, humid, or oily conditions)
- If the hearing aid sounds muffled even after replacing the wax guard and cleaning, the mic filter may be blocked
How to Replace your Microphone Filters?
- Locate the small mesh covers over the microphones (usually two small openings on the top or back of BTE/RIE aids)
- Use the official ReSound Microphone Filter Kit (small adhesive sticks)
- Press the sticky tool onto the old filter, lift it off, then press a new one into place.
When your sound quality degrades, we recommend optimising your listening experience by replacing your wax filters, domes and receivers.
